The name Helgrindur literally means “Gates of hell”. So you can take a picture from the balcony and claim that that´s the view from the gates of hell. So why did we name our guesthouse Helgrindur? A very harsh and cold name, indeed.
Because that´s the name of the beautiful mountain range to the South of the guesthouse. This mountain range surrounds Grundarfjörður from the SouthWest to the SouthEast.
